Anatomy of the Letter Ayn (Shape 2)
Full Animation of Ayn
The Ayn (ع) in Shape 2 showcases a beautiful blend of fluidity and structure, reflecting the elegance of Arabic calligraphy. This version of Ayn is characterized by bold strokes and flowing curves, capturing the balance and motion that define the Thuluth style. Below is a breakdown of the four strokes that form this distinctive shape.
1.First Stroke
Start with a vertical stroke at a 70° angle, creating a strong and symmetrical foundation.
The dimensions of this stroke are 2 nuqtas in width and 2 nuqtas in height, setting the base for the letter’s form.
2.Second Stroke
Transition to a 75° angle for a diagonal stroke that introduces fluid motion.
This stroke measures 2 1/2 nuqtas in width and 1 nuqta in height, connecting seamlessly to the next part of the letter.
3.Third Stroke
Adjust to a 75° angle for a bold, flowing curve that forms the primary body of the Ayn.
This stroke spans 5 nuqtas in width and 4 nuqtas in height, adding dynamic elegance to the letter.
4.Fourth Stroke
Conclude with a vertical stroke at a 90° angle, completing the letter’s structure.
This final stroke measures 5 nuqtas in width and 4 nuqtas in height, with a tail extending 1 1/2 nuqtas, giving the Ayn its distinctive flourish.
