Anatomy of the Letter La (Shape 1)
Full Animation of La
The La (لا) in Shape 1 is a striking combination of the letters Laam (ل) and Alef (ا), showcasing the bold and flowing characteristics of Arabic calligraphy. In Thuluth style, Shape 1 of the La highlights vertical elegance and smooth transitions, making it a cornerstone of balanced and harmonious script. This form is created using three distinct strokes, each contributing to its strong and refined design.
1.First Stroke
Begin with a tall, vertical stroke at an angle of 60°, forming the primary structure of the Laam.
This stroke measures 7 nuqtas in height, establishing the La’s commanding presence.
2.Second Stroke
Add a curved stroke at an angle of 65°, introducing a gentle transition between the Laam and Alef.
This stroke measures 2 nuqtas in height and 3 nuqtas in width, adding motion and flow to the composition.
3.Third Stroke
Complete the letter with a vertical stroke at 90°, forming the Alef and anchoring the letter.
This stroke measures 6 nuqtas in height and 4 nuqtas in width, giving the La its bold and balanced finish.
